Area Guide

Observatory

This residential area is named after the SA Astronomical Observatory and lies east of the city centre between the Liesbeeck and Black Rivers. The area is very close to UCT and as a result there are lots of students who choose to live in the neighbourhood. There's also a healthy population of backpackers and young professionals in the area.

The area has many cafés, pubs and live music venues making it a popular spot foe a night out. Our properties in Observatory are relatively close to Main Road and the station, making it easy to catch public transport if you don't plan to have a car. The bars and shops are also walking distance.

Being located here puts you in cab distance of the best night life that the city has to offer but if you don't have a car it's not as conveniently located as Observatory with regards to public transport.
